Abstract
Nanocarbons could be obtained by the decomposition of light alkanes using oxidized diamond-supported Ni catalyst with high yields. This is the report to show that oxidized diamond can serve as an active catalytic support material for nanocarbon synthesis. Oxidized diamond is proposed as a novel catalytic means for the synthesis of nanocarbons, and it is suggested that oxidized diamond may catalyze unique reactions of importance in nanomaterial synthesis.
