Abstract
This research used the label-free impedance technique to analyze the cellular activities oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cells and non-cancer oral epithelial cells. Three major research activities were included: 1) to study various cellular activities of OSCC cells, including cell spreading, attachment, proliferation, drug-induced apoptosis and inhibition of apoptosis; 2) to distinguish oral cancer cells and normal cancer in a label-free manner; 3) The resistance and capacitance components induced by the two types of cells on the microelectrodes were obtained by fitting appropriate equivalent circuits. This study demonstrated that the impedance-based method has the potential to be a useful analytical approach for cancer research.
