Abstract
In the nanometer size regime, both semiconductor and noble metal nanostructures have many interesting optical, electronic and chemical properties that are size-dependent, due to quantum effects. The hybrid nanoassemblies obtained from putting them together become suitable for applications in developing biological nanosensors and optoelectronic nanodevices with significant enhancement of sensing efficiency.
