Abstract
We report here photovoltaic effects on Buriti oil (Mauritia flexuosa) mixed in an insulating polymers matrix. The samples studied here consist of an active layer based on polystyrene (PS) and poly (methilmethacrilate) (PMMA) mixed with Buriti Oil (BO). The structure of the device was glass/FTO/ Poly (3, 4- ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT): poly (styrenesulfonate) (PSS)/ active layer/ Ag. These mixtures are promising materials in the fabrication of organic photovoltaic devices. The advantage of these mixtures is their low cost of production and ease in fabrication. Electrical measurements were obtained in both a lit room and in the dark. We can observe photovoltaic effects in all samples mixed with OB. This effect is very interesting because we are working with an insulating polymer instead of the semiconductor polymer. In this work we have been developing a junction of the metal- insulator-metal (MIM) diode that acts like a photovoltaic device. Introduction
