Abstract
The corrosion inhibiting properties for the opuntia ficus (nopal mexican) and residues of cigars tobacco as extracts are evaluated here as an alternative to the use of inorganic inhibitors. For the evaluation of the extracts were made use of electrochemical methods as linear polarization resistance (LPR)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS, which are very reliable techniques for the study of the corrosion mechanisms occurring at the interface between metallic sustrate and the films formed by the action of the inhibitors. The EIS results were analyzed applying the Boukamp program and using a model of equivalent circuit that combine the film formed time constant with the charge transfer and diffusion response for both corrosion reactions. The main results determined that the best performance was obtained using extracts 1% by weight and aggressive agents also at the lower chloride solutions concentration here used at 1% HCl and 3% NaCl.
