Abstract
Proper pretreatment of titanium sheets is conducive to uniform attachment of an oxide coating and makes electrode performance more stable and reliable. Four kinds of pretreated titanium sheets were prepared using different methods. The physical appearance of the Ti sheets after etching was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the corrosion mechanism of two different pretreated titanium plates were proposed. Based on the test results of the electrochemical performance and SEM/X-ray diffraction of the coatings, their influence on the electrode performance was analyzed. The results showed that on the Ti sheets etched at 90℃ for 2 h in 20% HCl after polishing, the corrosion pits were conducive to the bonding of coatings with matrix, showed excellent coating conditions, and superior electrochemical performance. A service life of 2772 h was achieved according to the empirical formula of accelerated-life-test.
