Abstract
Noble emitting phosphor powders of a stable NASICON-type structure as a host, doped with mono-, di-, and tri-valent ions as a guest, such as Na1-xCuxZr2(PO4)3, (Sr1-xSnx)1/2Zr2(PO4)3 and Tb(x+1)/3Zr2-xGax(PO4)3, were tried to synthesized by sol-gel and solid-state reaction methods. The Na1-xCuxZr2(PO4)3 powders showed blue or green photoluminescence (PL) at 410 or 540 nm under 254 nm irradiation depending on Cu+ concentration doped. The (Sr1-xSnx)1/2Zr2(PO4)3 and Tb(x+1)/3Zr2-xGax(PO4)3 powders showed strong blue PL at ca. 393 nm and strong green PL at ca. 546 nm, respectively, under 254 nm irradiation. The PL intensity was increased with increasing x in (Sr1-xSnx)1/2Zr2(PO4)3 up to x = 1.0, while that for Tb(x+1)/3Zr2-xGax(PO4)3 showed maximum at x = 0.5. Both (Sr1-xSnx)1/2Zr2(PO4)3 and Tb(x+1)/3Zr2-xGax(PO4)3 systems were not represented the concentration quenching.
