Abstract
Stability of nine electrolyte solutions, prepared using the most commercially preferred salts and electrolytes, towards C/Li2MnSiO4 nanocomposite cathode material was investigated in this research. The cathode material was synthesized via a one step sol-gel method and coated with a specific amount (30 wt.%) of conductive carbon layer after the primary carbon is removed and the material is reduced. Properties of the C/Li2MnSiO4 nanocomposite were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Electrochemical behavior of electrolyte solution-cathode material compositions were examined by the charge/discharge tests (CDT) using electrochemical Li/Li+/(C/Li2MnSiO4) cells. As a conclusion it is observed that LiPF6 (EC:DMC) is the most suitable one among the examined electrolyte solutions for C/Li2MnSiO4 systems.
