Abstract
One step anodization and re-anodization of aluminum in an external magnetic field was studied in different electrolytes. We could show that the intensity of the magnetic field affects both the properties of the alumina obtained and the anodization process itself. The most pronounced effect of a magnetic field was noticed in sulfuric acid solution, in the case of one step anodization. The samples that have been thermally treated after the first anodization step showed also a stronger effect in the presence of a magnetic field during the re-anodizing process than the samples that were not annealed.
