Abstract

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a recurrent, chronic inflammatory bowel disease with varying severity and prolonged healing, and Western medicine drug treatment has certain side effects. In recent years, a large number of animal experimental studies have demonstrated that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can reduce the inflammatory response and improve intestinal inflammation by interfering with the relevant signalling pathways, effectively improving the symptoms of patients with ulcerative colitis. The purpose of this article is to summarise the relevant articles on the modulation of relevant signalling pathways by TCM for the treatment of ulcerative colitis in recent years, and to provide new ideas for the active exploration of UC drug therapy.
