Abstract
The spotted rose snapper (Lutjanus guttatus) is a marine fish species highly appreciated in local markets of some countries of Latin America. For this reason at first wild juveniles were captured and stocked in floating cages for aquaculture. Since the last decade the first studies about reproduction in captivity and massive juvenile production were started in order to supply continue culture. The current study presents up to date results regarding spawning, egg management and incubation and larval rearing protocols for the spotted rose snapper in Latin America.
