Abstract
ABSTRACTThe prime focus of dentistry is on preservation of teeth and other oral structures rather than replacing what is lost. An overdenture fulfills this by preserving alveolar ridge integrity and maintaining the proprioceptive ability of the periodontium. An immediate denture replaces the lost teeth and associated structures of the maxillae and mandible at the time of extraction.
