Abstract

ABSTRACT The present manuscript reviews the main three-dimensional ultrasound (3DUS) methods that are clinically available to measure fetal organ volumes. Nowadays, it is possible to measure the volume of different organs (lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, adrenal glands and brain) using 3DUS. Those measurements are clinically useful to predict pulmonary hypoplasia, cardiac dysfunction and anomalies, fetal growth, renal function and prematurity as well as to predict adequate and normal neurodevelopment.
