Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the beliefs and attitudes of mathematics teachers towards statistics education. The sample of the research consisted of 11 mathematics teachers. A semi-structured interview form was used as the data collection tool, and the data was analyzed using the "cut and sort" technique. Based on the analysis, it was concluded that it is critical to consider both student needs and teacher needs to improve statistics education. Therefore, professional development programs should be organized to help teachers understand and teach basic statistical concepts effectively. In this way, teachers can better equip their students with the skills to think statistically and make rational and informed decisions.
