Acute Pancreatitis Secondary to Primary Hyperparathyroidism

Abstract

A 46-year-old woman with past medical history of type 2 diabetes mellitus presented with abdominal pain of 3 days duration accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Her serum calcium and parathyroid hormone levels were noted to be elevated. A neck ultrasound confirmed the diagnosis of right parathyroid adenoma. A parathyroidectomy was done and biopsy revealed histological findings of parathyroid adenoma.
