Abstract
The experiments were done in incompressible jets using different orifices namely circle, ellipse, rectangle, triangle and six lobed. Numerical predictions using FLUENT code are compared with the experimental data and they seem to agree well. The spreading rate is lower for the circular orifice and highest for the triangular orifice. The Reynolds shear stress an- turbulent kinetic energy are predicted for all the jets up to 16 equivalent diameters.
