Abstract
A general code has been developed for solving the wave equation in cylindrical co-ordinate system with source distribution due to various causes to obtain a predictive capability. The advantage of this approach is that source distributions due to various causes like combustion noise, jet noise etc. can be added as and when they become available without having to change the program. One of the source distribution needed is that due to jet noise. In this work volume source distribution due to jet mixing was approximately estimated using turbulence theory. Numerical results were compared with the experimental results for C-D nozzle designed for a Mach number of two.
