Recently, the Basel Committee was broadened to the G20 countries, but this event is not taken into account in this article. New members are Australia, Brazil, China, South Korea, India, Mexico and Russia. These countries are represented by their respective central banks’ governors. It is worth noting that meetings between the Basel Committee members take place four times a year, in order to discuss progress in converging capital standards.
