Experience of Introducing Intraoperative Electron Accelerator Mobetron into Clinical Practice

Abstract

Purpose: Тo share the experience of introducing the Mobetron intraoperative electron accelerator into clinical practice, including describing the methods of acceptance testing and measuring dose distributions, as well as possible clinical applications. Material and methods: Acceptance tests and commissioning were carried out on the intraoperative accelerator Mobetron (IntraOp, USA), dosimetry IBA (Belgium). Results: Experience of commissioning the Mobetron intraoperative electron accelerator and some of the most relevant clinical applications are described. Conclusion: Commissioning the Mobetron is a lengthy and specific procedure. The most important aspect of the successful preparation and operation of the device in the clinic is the common interest and cooperation of specialists in various fields - radiotherapists, surgeons, medical physicists.
