Abstract
The first virtual International Society for Music Education (ISME) Early Childhood Music Education (ECME) seminar in July 2022, featured a provocative theme, Making Voices Visible in Early Childhood Music. Research papers, poster presentations and the keynote by Pauline Harris led us to consider ways to cast our attention on children’s voices through and about music. By listening deeply and visibly, we can expand our understanding of young children as musickers, leading to improved pedagogy, while providing a compass for further inquiry.
