Abstract

The article provides an analytical overview of the trends that have emerged in the interdisciplinary methodology of linguistic research at the beginning of the 21st century. The trends are identified by analyzing the theoretical statements of the papers delivered at the international conferences held in 2022, the related publications, as well as by interpreting the examples given by the authors. The main methodological trend is defined as the search for cognitive foundations of intuitively perceived linguistic phenomena in their interaction with extra-linguistic factors. The correlation of communicants’ conceptual systems in non-conflict communication, in the discourse of “scientific diplomacy”, in the styling of scientific discourse, in the associative experiment, in the analysis of grammatical concordance, and in corpus studies is considered. The tendency is implemented in the joint use of quantitative and qualitative-interpretative, system-linguistic and system-cultural methods.
