The process of mastering the skills of ethno-oriented teaching the Russian language using the example of the experience of teachers from Myanmar

Abstract

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of professional training of teachers of Russian as a foreign language in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The author analyzes the features of educational policy in Myanmar, pointing to the complex multi-ethnic composition of the country’s population. The author sees the polylingualism of Myanmar as one of the factors influencing the study of foreign languages, including Russian. The article discusses the regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Education of Myanmar, as well as student surveys. Based on them, conclusions are drawn about shortcomings in the educational process. Special attention is paid to the figure of the teacher, who is traditionally respected in Myanmar society. The author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to raise the level of teaching staff by mastering best practices in teaching Russian as a foreign language.
