Through professional antenatal care services, increasing knowledge and behavior in pregnancy care is expected to be able to prevent the occurrence of preeclampsia. The interaction of the client nurse with the self-hypnosis approach will increase the mother's abilities. This study aimed to analyze pregnant women's characteristics influencing nurses' interaction with a self-hypnosis approach in the prevention of preeclampsia.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with 260 pregnant women who were taken using purposive sampling as the sample. The data analysis uses using chi-square test, and the result is considered significant if p < 0.05.
Results: At the induction stage, there were significant results on the characteristics of pregnant women with hypertension (p = 0.036) and the characteristics of pregnant women based on education (p = 0.019). At the suggestion stage, significant results were obtained on the characteristics of pregnant women with a hereditary history of preeclampsia (p = 0.023) and maternal characteristics based on knowledge (p<0.001). At the termination stage, significant results were obtained on the characteristics of the mother with a hereditary history of preeclampsia (p = 0.037) and the characteristics of the mother based on knowledge (p<0.001).
Conclusions: The mother's characteristics that affect the nurse's interaction with the self-hypnosis approach are hypertension history, hereditary history of hypertension, and the mother's knowledge about the prevention of preeclampsia.
