Abstract
Based on the Knoevenagel condensation, nitrosation, and azo coupling reactions, the synthesis of some С5 substituted 4-phenylimino-thiazolidin-2-ones was carried out. The chemical structures of the synthesized products have been determined by 1H NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Evaluation of novel compounds over the carrageenan-summoned rat paw edema revealed a powerful anti-inflammatory effect of some substances which exceeds the activity of the comparative drug Ibuprofen.
