Abstract

SummaryA psychological literacy approach to teaching aims to improve students’ cultural awareness and has several benefits including the development of higher order skills.I embedded a psychological literacy approach into a new final year module. This was achieved using group and active learning, and assessed using a scientific blog.Student feedback highlighted several positives with this teaching approach, including the relevance of the module content to global issues, and the use of group learning as an effective way to extend knowledge.This module demonstrates the advantages of a psychological literacy approach to education delivered through group and active learning.
