Abstract
In this article we describe the use of the ‘tree of life’ methodology with a group of people with learning disabilities over two days. We contextualise the tree of life in terms of narrative therapy. We, therefore, begin with a main overview of the key elements of this approach (White & Epston, 1990). We then discuss the rationale for using the tree of life, who we invited, group preparation, and the constituent elements. We end by focusing on outcomes and reflections.
