Abstract
This essay presents a case study of a species of lizards that evolved after experimentally being exposed to a foreign environment. The research is used to demonstrate the importance of both a change of environment and the capacity for change for a species to thrive over time. These findings relate to the field of psychology, supporting an argument that individual psychologists can spur positive change in psychology by bringing in new perspectives, methods, and ways of working with other disciplines. The piece is intended as inspiration for new student psychologists to embrace their strengths and differences and use them to incite evolution within the field of psychology.
