Abstract

This paper describes an audit carried out with clinicians in an established South London Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service, exploring: (a) the number of clients seen who have a co-morbid physical health condition, and (b) therapists’ perceptions of their own competence at offering these clients effective interventions. Based on the responses received, top-up workshops were designed and delivered to increase skills and self-efficacy in working with this client group, and workshop objectives were evaluated. This report describes the audit and then considers the implications for training needs, and the content and evaluation of workshops.
