Abstract
This paper outlines some of the debates in the field of providing psychological interventions for war-affected children. It draws heavily from our recent experience of providing and researching such interventions. In the past three years the Doctorate in Educational Child and Adolescent Psychology and the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in Queen’s University, Belfast have collaborated on five mental health and psychosocial interventions with war-affected communities, child soldiers and victims of gender-based violence in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
