Abstract
The present study was conducted to determine the effect of site conditions on the adaptation capability and growth performance of cedar seedlings ( Cedrus libani) planted on a tree plantation on the South coast of Karakaya Dam Watershed in Malatya province, Eastern Turkey. In total, 93 experimental areas were chosen systematically at the end of second vegetation period, and various parameters were measured in these areas. A factor analysis was carried out to determine the most critical factors influencing the percent of seedling survival, height and root collar diameter. These parameters were found to be most affected by Organic Substance Rate, Inorganic Substance Rate (I), Soil Texture Type, Lime (CaCO3) Content, Elevation, and Inorganic Substance Rate (II).
