Abstract
Global climate change due to an increase in greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide is now regarded as a serious worldwide environmental problem. It is described herein that there is a relation between the tropical zone and the polar/subpolar zone in the heat balance of the earth. The main purpose of the present paper is to show how the boreal environment should be incorporated in the study of global warming. The boreal environment is found to be affected by global warming, but this sensitive environment plays an important part in the terrestrial radiation which releases thermal energy into space. This event depends upon a high albedo in the polar/subpolar zones.
