Jazz education has come a long way since its inception, with its evolution reflecting not only changing musical styles but also societal and technological advancements. This article traces the development of jazz education from its early years to the present day, highlighting the contributions of significant educators, teaching philosophies, and curricula. The article also explores the currency of jazz education, including trends, tools, and the expansion of jazz education organizations. A particular focus is placed on the intersection between jazz education and entrepreneurship, with a discussion of how jazz education can foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among music students. Online jazz education start-ups, such as Chad Ledwik's platform, are also examined.
