Author:

Gulieva Ainur Rzagulu-Gezy,

Abstract

The article examines the consequences of the sanctions war declared by Western countries against Russia. The author gives a brief description of the sanctions imposed since February 2022 against individuals and legal entities of Russia. Further, the author highlights the main problematic consequences of restrictive measures negatively affecting the economy of the EU member states. Information is provided on measures taken by national governments to counter inflationary pressure. Then the author considers the proposals put forward by the European Commission aimed at overcoming the energy crisis. As a result of the study, the author concludes that the European bureaucracy in the process of combating the negative consequences of the sanctions imposed against Russia faces the interests of not only national governments, but also corporate players who seek to maximize profits against the background of the crisis.
