6. Howard Nathan is president and chief executive officer of the Gift of Life Donor Program in Philadelphia. The program has been involved in coordinating more than 22 000 organ transplantations and tens of thousands of tissue transplantations since 1974.

7. Anthony D’Alessandro is a professor of surgery at the University of Wisconsin Medical School and the executive director of the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics organ procurement organization, Madison, Wis. He is currently the cochair of the Organ Transplantation Breakthrough Collaborative.
