Abstract
Scientific and technological renewal of agricultural production and the related improvementof management and organization of the economy are considered in the articleas the main means of strengthening its economy. At the same time, it contributes to solvingsocial problems common to the city and the village, such as increasing the availability offood, reducing retail food prices, balancing the use of labour resources in the city and rural areas, solving problems of greening production and improving the environment in the placesof residence. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the quality of life.The article argues the need to intensify the transition of the agricultural industry of Russiainto the direction of innovative development. The main possible directions of modernizationof its economy related to mastering of high-performance latest technologies of productionand management have been investigated.At the same time, consideration is given to the possibility of weakening the negative sides ofthe divergent objectives of the functioning of the two subsystems of social development –high-intensity production and preservation of natural resources, including those used in agricultureas the main means of production. This task will help to solve the mastery by agriculturalenterprises of the latest technologies of production and environmental conservationmethods of farming.State assistance to rural producers in the acquisition and development of high-tech meansof production, the development of the technology market are seen as improving the currentpractice of supporting agriculture (limited mainly to dating low-value production), and increasingits importance for the growth of production and social development of rural areas.Modernization of agricultural production is presented as part of the general innovative restructuringof the economy of the national economy.
