Abstract

Changes in chromatin condensation are associated with cellular adaptation to mechanical stimuli. This study shows that endothelial cells have significant changes in histone acetylation and methylation during adaptation to fluid shear stress. Furthermore, a more decondensed chromatin accelerates the rate at which cells adapt to fluid shear stress.
