Abstract

Different vesicular cargoes have distinct responses to tau phosphorylation. Phosphomimetic (Y18E) tau has a weakened effect on lysosome motility compared with unphosphorylated tau and preferentially inhibits peripheral lysosomes. In contrast, early endosomes are strongly inhibited by both unphosphorylated and phosphomimetic tau.
