Abstract

The ubiquitin ligase activity of CUL3–KLHL12 is believed to be critical for the assembly of large COPII structures. We show that CUL3 neddylation, which is critical for CUL3 ubiquitin ligase activity, is not necessary for the assembly of large COPII structures. In addition, we have identified a new function of CUL3–KLHL12 as a regulator of cellular collagen levels.
