Emerin prevents BAF-mediated aggregation of lamin A on chromosomes in telophase to allow nuclear membrane expansion and nuclear lamina formation

Abstract

The nuclear envelope LEM-domain protein emerin prevents BAF-mediated accumulation of lamin A on the chromosome surface in telophase, allowing expansion of the nuclear membrane at the core region and rapid reformation of the lamin A/C-based nuclear lamina. The LEM-domain and lumenal domain of emerin are required for its targeting to the core region.
