Abstract

Structured illumination microscopy revealed a core-shell organization of the Drosophila histone locus body in which the core contains active RNA polymerase II and nascent transcripts and the shell contains a pre-mRNA processing factor, suggesting a link between HLB internal organization and replication-dependent histone mRNA biosynthesis.
