Abstract

A combination of methionine restriction and mTOR inhibition induced a unique metabolic state in human fibroblasts which prevents senescence. Transcriptome-wide analysis revealed a novel link between the first committed steps in carnitine synthesis and histone methylation. Regulation of these enzymes connects metabolism with cell fate decisions.
