Abstract

The article is devoted to the creative and scientific contribution of the Honored Researcher of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, Professor, Akop Varazdatovich Vardanyan to the development of criminalistic theory and the improvement of the law enforcement practice of crime counteraction. The author analyzes his key works and evaluates his research findings in the sphere of the general theory of criminalistics and special criminalistic methodologies of investigating specific types and groups of crime — those in the sphere of housing construction and land legal relations, economic and foreign trade activities, insurance, shadow trade in pharmaceuticals, extremism and terrorism, illegal migration. His personal contribution to the development of criminalistic didactics, creation of the school of research, establishment and work of the dissertation council are also stressed.
