Abstract

The research examines the dynamics of print media forecasts during the period of market transformations. Chinese Printing Policy changed several times during the 20th century, and switched to a commercial basis in the early 1980s, which became one of those milestones. The analysis allows us to identify three main trends for publication in the period: the transition to self-sufficiency due to a large number of advertising materials, publishing online and the creation of a website there, a decrease in attention to the political and foreign policy agenda due to the involvement of a wider range of readers. The article explores the changes taking place in the Chinese information environment in the period of modern history. The study provides a review of a wide range of English-language sources that are introduced into the Russian-language scientific study for the first time.
