Key Development Trends Competition in the Product Segments of the Brokerage Services Market of the Russian Federation

Abstract

The development of competition between professional participants in the securities market engaged in brokerage activities is inseparably linked with the growth of the competitiveness of brokerage organizations in the framework of improving the quality of the services and products they provide. In this regard, improving the competitiveness of brokerage organizations is an indispensable condition for developing competition in the brokerage market, and hence increasing the investment attractiveness of the securities market of the Russian Federation. The article examines the activities of brokerage organizations in the Russian securities market and determines the dynamics of key indicators characterizing brokerage activities (the number and structure of active clients and the volume and structure of client transactions). A comparative analysis of the activities of leading brokers by product segment, tariff plans and combined types of activities was carried out, as a result of which key trends in the development of brokerage activities were identified. Based on the identified trends, an assessment of the competitive advantages of leading brokers was carried out and companies-leaders and companies included in the competitive environment of leaders that need to increase their competitiveness were identified.
