Abstract
ThisstudyaimstocompareandevaluatetheinternationalcompetitivenessofthefurnitureindustryintheselectedEuropeanUnion(EU)countriesusingchosenresult-orientedindicators.TheresultsfoundthatcountrieswiththehighestlevelsofinternationalcompetitivenessofthefurnitureindustryincludedPoland,RomaniaandItaly.Incontrast,thecomparativeadvantageofGermany,whichisthelargestfurnitureexporterintheEU,wasnotassignificant.NocomparativeadvantageinthefurnituretradewasobservedinFranceandUnitedKingdom,whichisconfirmedbythenegativevaluesoftheRelativeTradeAdvantage(RTA)indexandbyunfavorablevaluesoftheexportspecializationindex.Theresultspresentedinthearticleexpandtheexistingknowledgeintheareaofassessingtheinternationalcompetitivenessofthelargestfurnitureexporters.
