Abstract
Greenhouse farms in Armenia are developing intensively from year to
year. The growth and development of plants grown in greenhouses is mainly
stimulated by chemicals, however, they can be partially replaced by the
influence of music. Scientists have proven the beneficial effect of music on the
growth of higher plants back in the last century.
We conducted experiments on local plant varieties purchased at the
“Scientific Center for Vegetables, Melons and Industrial Crops” in the village
of Darakert. During the day, with breaks, music was turned on for 6.5 hours.
The influence of classical music on various phases of growth and development
of greenhouse plants of local varieties of cucumbers “Hayarpi”, “Nare” and
tomatoes “Rubina”, “Ranni-Nush” was tested. Comparisons are provided with
plants of the same varieties grown without music.
As a result of the research, it was revealed that classical music, in which
sound waves oscillate in the range of 6 kHz, has a stimulating effect on the
growth of the studied varieties of cucumbers and tomatoes and their growth
exceeds the growth of plants grown without the influence of music.
