Abstract
The hairs of 13 representatives of sectio <em>Coronopus</em> DC. genus <em>Plantago</em> were studied. The occurrence of 5 types of headless and 4 types of headed hairs was found. The investigations confirm the correctness of Rahn's (1978) and Dietrich's (1980) classification dividing the sectio <em>Coronopus</em> (subgenus) into two lower taxonomic units. Sectio <em>Coronopus</em> sensu Rahn is characterized by the presence of bottle-like hairs, while sectio Maritima Rahn by the occurrence of morel-like hairs.
