Abstract
The in vitro activity of thienamycin was tested against 135 aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. The compound was highly active against resistant gram-negative bacilli and penicillin-resistant
Straphylococcus aureus
. The antianaerobic spectrum of the drug seemed to be comparable to that of metronidazole.
