Abstract

ABSTRACTBabesia microti-like parasites were detected for the first time inIxodes ovatusin Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, where two reported types ofB. microti-like parasites were recognized in many rodents. Of 80 adultI. ovatusticks collected, 5 possessed the reported type and 1 possessed a new type ofB. microti-like parasite.
