Abstract
M. tuberculosis
infection requires the administration of multiple antibiotics for a prolonged period of time. Treatment difficulty is generally attributed to
M. tuberculosis
entrance into a nonreplicative, antibiotic-tolerant state.
M. tuberculosis
enters this nonreplicative state in response to immune stress.
